Two pianists who perform internationally. A boundless passion, and the firm belief that music lives in everyone.
Where we come from
We come from the USA, but are also citizens of Taiwan and Germany. We have lived in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Cincinnati and Carcassonne. For several years now Nuremberg has been our home. We travel a few weeks each year, and remain very active as performers.
To us, teaching means passing on experience, sharing knowledge, nurturing talent, awakening enthusiasm, and sharing joy.
The teachers
Tiffany Löhner
Pianist · Founder
Tiffany Löhner, née Liu, comes from Los Angeles. The Taiwanese-American pianist studied with renowned teachers including Bernadene Blaha, Grace Fong, James Tocco and Hans-Christian Wille.
She complemented her degrees from the music schools of Chapman University and the University of Cincinnati with further study at the Leopold Mozart Centre in Augsburg, alongside master classes with figures such as Sergei Babayan, John Perry and Jura Margulis.
Ms Löhner has been recognised with prizes at numerous competitions, won scholarships totalling more than USD 150,000, and has performed internationally as a concert pianist for over ten years. In January 2018 she founded the Virtuosenschule in Nuremberg. She speaks three languages fluently: German, English and Mandarin Chinese.
Johannes Löhner
Conductor · Pianist · Composer
Johannes Löhner is a German-American conductor, pianist and composer. At the Virtuosenschule he regularly gives master classes, drawing on his knowledge of music theory, improvisation and historical performance practice.
He currently serves as Musical Director and CEO of the Internationales Salonprojekt, and maintains close contact with the leading artists of our time. As a conductor he has worked with major orchestras in Europe and the USA, among them the Nuremberg and Hamburg Symphony Orchestras.
Since February 2017 he has travelled worldwide as assistant to the British conductor Sir Roger Norrington. He has also been a lecturer at the Nuremberg University of Music since the summer semester of 2017.
